Nuddi — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Nuddi is a dive logbook. This policy explains what the app does with your data, in the same order of importance the app treats it: your dives first, and a small amount of anonymous usage data second.

Nuddi has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no advertising identifier. Nothing you write in the app is sent to us.

Who is responsible

Nuddi is developed by Marc Cubiro.

For privacy questions, requests, or anything that appears incorrect, contact:

nuddiapp@gmail.com

Your dive data stays yours

Your dives, diver profile—including your name, age, and certification—profile picture, and certification card photos are stored on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud, this information is also stored in your own private iCloud database.

That database belongs to your Apple Account and allows your logbook to synchronize with a new device. We cannot access or read your dives, name, photos, certifications, or diving locations.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, your information remains on your device.

You can check whether synchronization is enabled in:

Profile → iCloud sync

Anonymous usage data

Nuddi uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used. For example, it helps us understand which screens are opened, whether a dive is successfully logged, which quests are completed, and when an operation fails.

This information helps us identify problems and decide which parts of the app should be improved.

The information sent is deliberately designed so it cannot describe you personally:

Google Analytics for Firebase may automatically collect a pseudonymous app instance identifier and basic technical information, including:

Nuddi does not collect the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA). The app uses a version of the Firebase SDK that cannot access it.

This information is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites belonging to other companies.

The information is not sold or shared with data brokers. Google processes analytics information on our behalf.

For more information, read:

Species and quest catalogues

Nuddi periodically downloads new species and quests from a Cloud Firestore database. This allows the Marine Atlas and Quest Log to grow without requiring a new app release.

These operations only download public catalogue content. Information about you or your dives is not uploaded as part of these requests.

Like any internet request, the download requires a network address to establish the connection.

Photos

If you choose a profile picture or photograph a certification card, Nuddi receives only the image you select through Apple’s photo picker.

Nuddi does not receive access to the rest of your photo library.

The selected images are stored in the same way as your other information: on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud database.

Deleting your data

Delete your dives

Open Nuddi and select:

Profile → Delete all dives

This removes your dives from the device and your private iCloud database.

Delete the app’s information

You can delete Nuddi from your device.

To manage or remove information stored in iCloud, open:

Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage

Anonymous analytics information

Analytics information is not associated with your identity, so we cannot retrieve or delete a personal analytics record belonging to you.

If you have questions about analytics collection in the current version of Nuddi, contact nuddiapp@gmail.com.

Children

Nuddi is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information that directly identifies a child.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Nuddi’s functionality or data practices change.

When the policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will also change.
